Powerhouse Farmers Markets
6 am to 12 noon Every Saturday
Lamington St, Newfarm
The Jan Powers Farmers Markets Powerhouse has drawn strong crowds of food-lovers and smart shoppers since the arts venue opened in 2000.
Much has changed over two decades but what remains consistent is a commitment to high-quality products, a deep connection with farmers and primary producers and a sense of loyalty among stallholders and shoppers.
The Saturday morning markets attract thousands of visitors each week stocking up on everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to artisan cheeses and smallgoods to handmade pasta and bread.
There is no shortage of quality coffee vans to kickstart your morning and an abundance of food trucks and vendors to fill your bellies with the likes of acai bowls and smoothies, loaded bagels and burgers and nourishing curries and stir-fries.
When it comes to food, Brisbane’s inner-city is spoilt for choice but what sets Jan Powers Farmers Markets Powerhouse apart is its stallholders, each one of them connected to and passionate about the products they sell.
You can source fresh fruit straight from the grower, speak to butchers and bakers about their unique ranges and stock your fridge and pantry with wares bought directly from farmers, chefs and artisans.
Enjoy the bustling atmosphere of the busy market or take your purchases to the nearby New Farm Park for a relaxed riverfront picnic.
The family-friendly markets located in the forecourt of Brisbane Powerhouse also welcome dogs.
